Tina and Dan from Greenwood Holistic Farm in Ellington made their dream come true in 2022 when they purchased their farm. They provide clean, humanely raised chemical-free food free from herbicides and pesticides. No commercial fertilizer is used, only what their animals provide back to the farm through their manure. At the Farmer’s Market, they offer whole, and all standard parts of USDA-processed pastured-raised chicken and all standard parts of USDA-processed pasture-raised pork. In the second half of the 2025 market, they will be offering all standard parts of USDA-processed grass-fed and finished belted galloway beef. Their journey to find clean healthy food for themselves has allowed them to offer it to you. They also provide hours at their farm store at 43 East Porter Rd., Ellington. 860.214.2726. Please take time to follow their social media sites on Facebook and Instagram or go to their website at http://greenwoodholisticfarm.com.
My name is Michelle Jordan and I'm the owner of Hillyndale Road Farm, as well as the Stafford Farmers Market manager. Nestled in Storrs, Connecticut, my micro-farm and licensed home bakery is more than a business—it’s a labor of love. From the locally-sourced ingredients in my recipes to the happy clucks of my organically fed chickens, every aspect of Hillyndale Road Farm reflects a commitment to quality, integrity, and sustainability. I opened for business in April 2024 and you can currently find me at local farmers market, through pre-order pickup, and at my farm stand. I offer a variety of sourdough breads and baked goods year-round, and heirloom plants, produce, and herbs during the warmer months. All my produce is grown without pesticides and using regenerative farming methods. My farmers market/farm stand schedule and preorders can be found on my website at https://www.hillyndaleroadfarm.com/
In 2018 Chris & Rachelle opened their farm in Ashford CT. They are farming to maintain a connection to their food, their family, and their community. They aim to produce farm fresh products for every season. Maple syrup in the winter, vegetable plants in the spring, fruits & vegetables in the summer and Christmas trees in the late fall. Their vegetable garden is 100'x40', the orchard consists of 100+ trees, and there are about 1200 Christmas trees. Farm to table helps them to simplify their supply chain, provides a clear picture of where their food comes from, and offers their family and the community healthy choices. They certainly love what they do!
Peter is a second-generation farmer on his family’s land right here in Ellington. The farm was formally a tobacco farm and dairy farm, which eventually turned into beef production. For the past 20 years they have raised a mix of Angus, Hereford, and other cross breeds that produce a high-quality USDA certified product that is hard to find elsewhere. They are open year-round, and customers have always been welcome to stop at their farm. They do ask you call ahead to arrange an appointment. Please call Peter and Verna at 860-875-1062 to visit the farm at 516 Somers Rd Ellington, CT
Batter Up Bakery is a licensed residential bakery based in Tolland, CT; the name stemmed from my love for baking and softball, which I played since I could throw a ball. I went to Johnson and Wales where I got a degree in baking & pastry and had the opportunity to study abroad in France, learning from French pastry chefs. I love creating art in edible form and being a small part of special moments in peoples lives. My specialty items are the more tedious ones, such as decorated sugar cookies, French macarons, and specialty cakes, a labor of love. Aside from those, I also make hand pies, cookies, whoopie pies, scones, marshmallow treats, pretzels nuggets, brownies and more! You can find pictures of all my work, along with seasonal and holiday menus on my social media pages.

Good Soil Nursery is a small specialist nursery that specializes in growing English Delphiniums as well as Blue Poppies; we named our first ever delphinium “Annalise” with the Royal Horticultural Society in 2024. I’ve gardened all my life, and always wanted my own nursery. The idea and planning for what would become Good Soil Nursery would happen in the unlikeliest of places Afghanistan. Inspired by British nurseries that specialize in a species of plant, my love for delphiniums was an easy choice, also just like British nurseries many things are done in house. Flowers grown from our own seed and cuttings. Good Soil Nursery is still in its infancy, the plan is to have a nursery filled with beautiful stock flower beds full of mature plants that customers can enjoy and later buy a plant perhaps grown from the very plant they saw in the garden bed.
